Dr. Brent Dunlap is the owner of Dunlap Vision. He is a licensed optometrist practicing comprehensive primary care optometry in Bourbonnais, IL. He started his career as a full-time associate with Dr. Joseph Long in 2001 before purchasing the practice in 2004.

Dr. Dunlap graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) in 2001. While at ICO he received training in all aspects of vision care through the Illinois Eye Institute. He received clinical education in primary care, advanced care, low vision, pediatrics/binocular vision, and contact lenses.

He expanded his clinical skills in externship programs including Omni Eye Care Specialists, a high volume ocular disease and surgical referral center in Baltimore. Also, he worked at the VA Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia for three months treating and managing eye disease. He obtained further clinical education back in Illinois at the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind, the Diecke Low Vision Center at the University of Chicago, and the University of Chicago Children’s Vision Department.

He completed undergraduate studies at Central College in Pella, IA where he obtained a bachelor of science degree in pre-optometry. Additionally, he was a national qualifier, Academic All-American, and captain of the Dutch wrestling team.

Dr. Dunlap is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association. He is a member the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Kankakee.

He is married with four children and stays busy outside of work attending his kids’ activities.

Dr. Tayler Peachey is a board-certified optometrist practicing comprehensive primary eye care. She joined Dunlap Vision in February 2017.

She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association. Dr. Peachey graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago with a Doctor of Optometry degree. She was awarded membership to the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society and received Cum Lauda recognition upon graduation.

Among others, she completed externships at the Illinois Eye Institute and the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at UIC in Chicago with rotations in the retina, cornea and contact lenses, pediatrics, and glaucoma clinics. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Olivet Nazarene University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. It was during her first year of school that she discovered eye care was her desired career path. Dr. Peachey enjoys seeing patients of all ages.

Dr. Sowinski is a licensed and residency trained optometrist. He joined Dunlap Vision in 2025 bringing over twenty years of experience in primary eyecare. After graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry, he spent one year in Connecticut completing a residency in primary care/ocular disease. He then worked in California for three years before returning to Illinois. He spent nineteen years in private practice at Absolute Vision Care in their Manhattan and Mokena locations. Prior to optometry school, Dr. Sowinski attended Valparaiso University where he double majored and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biology.

Dr. Sowinski is passionate about ocular disease management. He is an expert with emergency eye care and has extensive experience prescribing glasses and contact lenses. He is dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care, focusing on each individual’s needs and goals.

He resides in Manhattan with his wife, Danielle, and their children. In his free time he enjoys outdoor activities, Chicago sports teams, and spending time with family and friends.
