How Does
Insurance Work?

Insurance can sometimes be confusing. Don’t worry – we’ve got you. Because we provide both medical and routine eye care, we accept a number of insurance plans to help cover the cost depending on your specific needs. If you have vision insurance and medical insurance, we recommend that you bring information for either or both. Our team will handle the rest.

We accept cash, major credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover), and CareCredit for any necessary payments.

Call us at 815-932-1116 to ask and we’ll be
happy to help.

If there’s something you have questions about or need help with, we’re here for YOU! Perhaps you’re unsure about whether you need vision insurance or medical. Maybe you don’t know when your child should start seeing an eye doctor. Or it could be that you’re ready to switch from your current doctor to us and you’re not sure how to get started.

Last Tuesday was #nationalvideogamesday, so let's talk about one easy thing you can do (and can encourage your kids to do) to help your eyes while using devices.

We call it the 2️⃣0️⃣ / 2️⃣0️⃣ / 2️⃣0️⃣ rule.

Take a break every 2️⃣0️⃣ minutes....
...by looking at something 2️⃣0️⃣ feet away...
...for 2️⃣0️⃣ seconds.
"Dr. Lisa is the absolute best. She is always patient and kind and easy to work with. We wouldn't go anywhere else!"
You know that the foods you eat impact your health. Did you know that food also specifically impacts your EYE health?

Today, on #nationalfoodismedicineday, we're sharing some tips for foods you can eat to help your eyes.

🥦 Spinach kale, broccoli, and eggs contain antioxidants that help form a protective layer deep in the eye that acts like sunglasses.
💦 Water keeps your eyes hydrated.
🐟 Cold-water ocean fish such as salmon and tuna contain Omega-3s that produce tears and help dry eye.
🥕 Orange-colored veggies like carrots and sweet potatoes contain vitamins A & E that protect the retina.
🥗 Dark, leafy greens contain lutein and zeaxanthin that can help prevent macular degeneration.

Have questions about eye health foods? Ask us at your next appointment!
September is childhood cancer awareness month which is near and dear to the Dunlap Vision team’s heart. We’re raising awareness and are encouraging our friends, family, and patients to consider donating to the cause to help find a cure.

If you’d like to donate to the UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital, please visit the link in bio.

Did you know there is such a thing as #nationaleyehealthweek? At Dunlap Vision, we focus on eye health EVERY DAY!
